The Finders Keepers Markets will debut in Melbourne this October. The indie design and art markets began in Sydney in 2007, before expanding to Brisbane in 2009.Brainchild of Brooke Johnston and Sarah Thornton, Johnston says the markets were founded to support emerging designers by creating a design-supportive event. “We wanted to bridge the gap between local weekend markets and expansive trade fairs,” she says. The markets will showcase designs from up to 150 hand-picked designers of fashion, jewellery, accessories, homewares, children’s wear, stationery, art and object design. It will be the largest Finders Keepers event to date, including live music, food and inspiring art and design from around the country.
