If you're anything like me you probably have a wardrobe packed full of clothes you never wear, you know the ones, those shorts you swore you'd shrink into for summer and that dress that is so sheer it's almost transparent(but looks great with a slip or over leggings according to the shop assistant). Do you stare at your wardrobe with fashion mishaps, clothes you've outgrown and swing-tag-still-attached numbers looking back at you, wondering how on earth am I going to fit my brand new summer buys in there? The answer is here my fashion fiends - Hold a stall at Take 2 Markets, Melbourne’s premier recycled fashion event. Turn your trash into someone elses treasure and get some coin for your preloved items and mistake purchases.
The next market is being held Sunday 20th March at Hawthorn town hall and you can book a stall from Wednesday 1st December at 10am.
Get in quick because these are the hottest tickets in town, last time they booked out in under 2 hours (that's quicker than Big Day Out!). Visit www.take2markets.com.au for more information.
And since you've cleared all this space in your cupboard you may as well check out some of the other stalls, who knows what cute vintage pieces, one-offs and designer finds might be waiting.
Fashionistas and fashion-misters flocked to the heart of Fitzroy Street, St Kilda to the luscious and brand spanking new venue Pretty Please. Welcomed with Capi fruit soda & 666 Vodka cocktails that kept flowing all night, everyone got a bit silly with Kirin Beers and Four Sisters Wines also helping to quench thirsts.
The head turningly handsome crowd danced the night away to music from the equally as handsome DJ's - Generik, The Bad Cats and Post Percy who played a retrosexual mix of party hymns that transformed even the highest heels into dancing shoes.
The hottest chick on the night came in mini pequeno burgers, wraps and other moreish morsels thanks to Nandos catering. Dessert included a delicious array of Trampoline gelato with flavours like passionfruit, blood orange and chocolate hitting our lips.

Catherine D from Scene Models made the perfect little girl on the prairie battling spider infested trucks, hay bails and climbing in crates of potatoes to get the perfect shot. Thanks to stylist Jam Baylon for creating the farmer-esque fashions, Jamie and Joel from Xiang for their scarecrow hair styling and Monica for her magnificent make-up.
Studs and chains remain de rigueur and are interwoven into the fabric of the leather to feature unobtrusively.
Elephant-patterned sheep leather is prominent this summer in several styles, which is so luxurious it feels like the softest of fabrics.
Blue and black denim acid-looks are shades of summer in this must-have style.
But you can always trust the Her Ego brand to remain true to its boho origins, now flavoured with luxurious fabrics and outstandingly sensual leathers.
The Her Ego Carnivale Summer Range also comprises a new look nautical denim everyday bag, perfect for those warm summer days at the beach!

Dean tailored the class to each individual person, picking colours to match our unique complexions and special techniques that enhance our own special features. We brought along our own makeup collections and tools so we could learn how to work better with what we've already got. Sheepishly we emptied our makeup cases to reveal years of bad makeup habits, including my foundation brush which unbeknown to me would be more effective in beating someone than actually applying foundation!
We then bared face for our colleagues, scrubbing off the veil we wear everyday and hydrating our skin. Dean started these classes so he could share his passion and knowledge with everyday women like us, he's not trying to sell us anything so we actually listen when he recommends we purchase a primer. Now our canvas is primed we can begin work on the masterpiece! Starting off with a more natural daytime look, Dean shared product tips and specialised application techniques to ensure flawless skin. We then worked our look into something more bold for night when Dean taught us foolproof steps for the perfect smoky eye.
We all left with radiant skin and a new head turning look, each person different from the rest, with a shopping list in mind and a new outlook on our habitual morning makeup routine. I vow to buy a primer, hydrate my skin, colour match my foundation, clean my brushes, use a splash of colour and thou shalt never sleep in my makeup again – no matter how big a night I've had!
