Team Evil's Cassette Tape Magazine - for those with small pockets and short attention spans

We don't often give plugs to other mags but we came across this one the other day while shopping in Melbourne and had to pick up a copy. It's published by the guys at www.teamevil.com.au - Issue 1 features articles on alpacas, MF DOOM, bad taste wolf art, old school romance, John Woo, boys + girls, creepy robot sex, misc schlock and more.

Only 500 copies have been produced, all of them lovingly folded up and placed inside authentic, old school cassette tape boxes. They're available for $5 a pop via www.teamevil.com.au and through selected retailers.

Our New Love

We've got a new love in the form of tHe Horse: organic upholstery for the foot (or a fancy way of saying some pretty sweet shoes for guys and gals). Designers Scott Hawkes and Gabrielle Glennie have based their shoe designs upon the idea the each foot has a unique personality. Scott and Gabrielle explain that "tHe Horse wears and grooves in smiles and tears as your feet live, birthing individual character". Pretty neat philosophy if you ask us!

The designs are made from genuine Italian leather, inside and out, meaning you can wear them without socks and they won't stink out the house when you come home from a hard days work.

You can check them out at the likes of Alphaville, The Office, Angus Black and Somedays or jump online to see their stockists Australia-wide thehorse.com.au/stockists.php

Flash Walk: Spirit of the Black Dress

By now it's likely that you would have heard of the group 'The Spirit of the Black Dress' (if not listen up)! The aforementioned is a collection of recent graduates committed to raising the profile of emerging talent within the fashion industry. They run an annual fashion photography exhibition, usually around Loreal Melbourne Fashion Week that showcases ten of Australia's newest designers.

Yesterday they hosted their 2010 media preview - we headed down to Melbourne's CBD to check out the action. The preview took the form of a 'Flash walk,' on the corner of Flinders and Swanston Streets. 'Flash walk' is a new term combining the recent phenomena of Flash Mob with the established fashion practise of Catwalk - simple really! Check out The Spirit of the Black Dress exhibition which runs from 12-6pm, 12-21st March at Georges on Collins, 195 Little Collins St, Melbourne. Oh and did we mention it's free?
